How to track the path of a pickleball
Watching the ball from your opponents paddle is key to getting an early read on ball direction and trajectory. This early indicator will firstly help you decide whether you are taking the ball on your forehand or backhand.
The trajectory or flight path will indicate where the ball is going to land on the court helping you to then decide the type of shot to return the ball. This is known as shot selection.
During a rally the ball is oftentimes traveling fast, so having early preparation is key to successfully connect with the ball in the center of your paddle.
You may have heard the term ready at the bounce. This means before the ball bounces your paddle should be back, stable and ready to swing through the ball.
Early preparation in volleying is even more important because you have less time. If you follow the flight path, put your paddle behind the ball and wait for the ball to come to you, your consistency and accuracy will certainly improve.
Add these FIVE key points to improve the consistency and accuracy of your game.
