How do you hit a pickleball accurately?
The Paddle doesn’t lie. You may or may not have heard of this expression, but if you’ve played pickleball a while I’m sure you’ve all seen someone look at their paddle after a bad shot as if there is something wrong with their paddle!
‘The paddle doesn’t lie’ simply means the ball will stay true to the way your paddle is facing at the point of contact.
If your ball travels out of court, past the sideline, your paddle was facing too far off court.
Being aware of this tip can transform your game. Keeping the paddle facing the court is key to playing consistent pickleball.
From another perspective, because ‘the paddle doesn’t lie’ tracking the ball from your opponent's paddle will help you to read where the ball is going. However, as you play higher level players this becomes increasingly difficult because of their ability to disguise or change direction at the last minute - actually in a split second to be more accurate.
